Celebrate Halloween at Angelo's 677 Prime!

         Angelo's 677 Prime will offer special drinks for tonight's bewitching holiday! Two 677 Prime Halloween Cocktails will be available.
   
         Adults are invited to try the Black Cosmo featuring Sobieski vodka, cointreau, fresh lime juice, candy skull. For Walking Dead fans there's also the Zombietini with Sobieski Citron, grenadine, cointreau, raspberry, dekyper, raspberry drizzle, and a floating eye ball. Enjoy a drink and a bag of Truffle caramel popcorn, you're never too old to have fun!

Bite & Sip is a pub crawl-style event. You may buy tickets online or that night at the Capital Repertory Theatre box office. If you buy tickets online, please visit Capital Repertory Theatre first to pick up your map.

International Center to offer Global Cuisine

        The International Center of the Capital Region will offer a variety of cooking classes over the next several months. Popular area Chef Yono Purnomo head chef and co-owner of Yono's and DP in Downtown Albany will lead the courses.  Top chef's from around the Capital Region will assist Chef Yono as the International Center strives to "provide students with a world class educational experience in a fun, hands-on, participatory environment."

          The first course, Indoneasan Cooking, will take place on November 16 from 11 am-2 pm. Following that the center will offer an International Cookie Baking Class just in time for the holidays on December 7 at $25 a person. A Japanese cooking course will be offered from 6pm-8 pm on December 18.
         
         Classes will be continue in the 2014 with Indian Cooking on January 9 and Louisiana Creole Cooking on February 6.

          A VIP Tasting & Tour at the Albany Distillery will take place on March 13 from 6 pm-7 pm for only $10 a person.
     
         As the snow melts away two great classes will be offered just in time for picnics and warm weather! Teaching Great BBQ Techniques on April 10 from 6 pm to 8 pm and Middle Eastern Cooking will be offered on May 8 from 6 pm to 8 pm.

The Hollow Offers Great Menu for Restaurant Week!

          The Hallow, the successor to the late Bayou Cafe, offers an interesting menu for the 2013 Downtown Albany Fall Restaurant Week running nightly through Friday, October 25.

           The Hallow which first premeired it's new menu's during the Spring 2013 Restaurant Week will offer a three-course menu for $20.13.

           The specialized menu includes: White Bean + Tarragon Soup, House-made Caponata, Grilled Pane Rustico, and the Signature Salad with Arugula, Grilled Shitake Mushroom, Shaved Asiago, and Truffle oil as the appetizer choices.
           Autumn Squash Gnocchi with maple brown butter, toasted pecans, and ricotta salata is one of three choices for your restuarant week entree. The other two offerings are grilled mahi-mahi and house pesto grilled steak with herbed carrot, parsnip + leek roast. The Mahi-Mahi also comes with roasted tomato, white bean sautĂ©, and kale.
           A three-course menu wouldn't be complete without a delicious dessert! The choices include: Samascott Orchards Cider Donut Bread Pudding with macoun apples or peach ripieno (dairy free).
          The Hallow will also offer Drink Specials that include: $5 off any bottle of wine, $2 off wine flights, $2 off beer flights, and $2 off signature jar drinks.

Downtown Fall Albany Restaurant Week Kicks Off Oct. 19!

              The 2013 Downtown Fall Restaurant Week kicks off tomorrow, Saturday, October 19.   Menu's from 18 of the top Downtown area restaurants will be offered for only $20.13. All of which can be found below by clicking on any desired restaurant below.
On top of participating in this Fall's Downtown Event, the following Six restaurants are participating in Student/Teacher night: The Hollow Bar + Kitchen, Jack's Oyster House, La Serre, Olde English Pub & Pantry, V&R Italian Ristorante and Victory Cafe

Taste to Celebrate New Chef with Special 6-Course Menus!

In honor of their new incoming chef, Mark Graham, Taste will offer special six-course tasting menus from Wednesday, October 16 through Friday, October 18 for $59.Each day will offer different menus as

Graham will use the three-day event to find popular items to be part of his first full menu, which will be debuted on Tuesday, October 29. Each menu will be based on personal food allergies and desires.

Following this event, Taste will take part in the Bi-Annual Downtown Albany Restaurant Week from Saturday, October 19 through Friday, October 25.
