Taste to Offer New Menu

Begging tomorrow, Wednesday, January 16, Taste will offer a new Winter Dinner Menu.

Executive Chef Paul J. Ozimek created the menu which will offer a wide variety of delicious and healthy items including: Blood Orange Crusted Scallops, Rutabega Hash Crusted Salmon, Braised Phesant and Peppers, and Prosciutto Wrapped Filet Mignon.

The entire Winter Dinner Menu is available online, Taste is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, 5 pm to 10 pm.

Peaches Cafe to Recieve $100,000 Renovation!

The Business Review reported yesterday afternoon that Peaches Cafe in Stuyvesant Plaza will receive a $100,000 makeover. The bistro-style restaurant which has been a part of the community for 30 years will get an updated look as well as additional seating.



Peaches will stay open throughout the construction process and will be completely funded by company profits, according to the article.

Carmine's Brazilian Grill Transitioning to Italian

Steve Barnes of the Times Union reported yesterday morning that Carmine's Brazilian Grill, an all-you-can-eat churrascaria-style restaurant that opened nine months ago on Sheridan Avenue in downtown Albany, will be transitioning to an Italian-style restaurant, similar to what Chef Carmine Spiro originally owned on Central Avenue years ago.

The restaurant will re-open tomorrow, January 4th. The menu will include a number of appetizers, small dishes, and entrees priced between $16 and $24, according to the article.

Proctors Hosting Farm to Table Dinner

The Business Review reported today that Proctors will be hosting a Farm to Table dinner on January 6, with the Schenectady Greenmarket co-hosting, and Ellis Medicine sponsoring.

Chefs from Mexican Radio, Mazzone Hospitality, Cafe NOLA, and Tara Kitchen will use locally-sourced ingredients to create the menu. The prepared food will be served along one long table down the length of Proctors Arcade. That will certainly be a sight to see!

Cocktails and hor d'oeuvres begin at 3 p.m., dinner at 4 p.m. Tickets are available at $80 for a single or $150 for double and can be purchased here.

Christmas Cuisine: A List of Restaurants Open for Christmas Day!



The Culinary Capital offers a selection of restaurants open on Christmas Day for those who don’t celebrate Christmas or just don’t feel like cooking the big meal.

3pm-11pm

Bistro Bar at 74 State Hotel will be open offering their full selection of drinks and a limited menu. Marche’ items will not be available on Christmas Day.

11 am-8 pm

Buca di Beppo invites you to join their family for the holidays; they’ll be offering their regular menu all day. Bucca is also offering pick up meals for Christmas Day. Enjoy a traditional Italian meal with all the fixings without lifting a finger in the kitchen. Walk-Ins are welcome however reservations are strongly recommended to avoid long wait times.
 
11:30 am-9 pm

Jacks will offer a limited version of their regular menu as well as special Christmas Day menu. Reservations are strongly recommended.

7 am-3pm

Marche’ will be open for a Christmas Day brunch only. Reservations are not required.

1pm-6pm

Scrimshaw’s will offer a limited Holiday menu. Reservations are recommended.
 
1pm—9pm

Simpson’s will offer a full holiday menu for the entire family. Reservations are strongly recommended.

11:30 am-10pm

The Tavern will be offering their normal menu all day. Reservations are not required.
