Restaurant Week takes the cake as Downtown Festivals begin to boom!

          Call the guys, grab a date, text your friends and make plans to come to Downtown Albany for all the great upcoming events. The month filled with fun happenings is headlined by the 8thBi-Annual Downtown Albany Restaurant Week, October 13-19, in which 14 of the top eateries in the downtown area offer special menus for only $20.12.  
          The restaurant line up includes: Wolfs1-11, Victory Café, V & R Italian Ristorante, Taste, La Serre, The Merry Monk,  Kelsey’s Pub, Katrinella’s Bistro, Jack’sOyster House, and Hudson Harbor Steak and Seafood. The list goes on with Franklin’s Tower, Café Capriccio, The Bayou Café, and The Albany Pump Station.
With more than 150 different entrée choices alone one night may just not be enough! So come back and try different restaurants during the week long culinary celebration. Throughout the week different themed nights will be added to the restaurant week fun.
Student Night, for example, will be held on Monday, October 15, Jack’s Oyster House, La Serre, V&R Ristorante, Victory Café and Wolf’s 1-11 Arena grill will offer their 3-course menu to area college students for only $15.12.
Tuesday night, October 16 is Date Night. Be the first of ten couples to show up at any of the participating restaurants and receive a free rose. The following nights, October 17 & 18, the BID will host Capital Ticket night, in which parties of four or more will be offered a chance to win a $200 gift certificate to any Downtown business in the Downtown Albany District.
Prior to the kick off of restaurant week the BID presents the Downtown Albany Fall Car Show from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on October 13. Take advantage of the rare opportunity to show off your classic automobile. A mix of modern and classic cars and motorcycles are expected to adorn the North Pearl Street from State Street to Sheridan Ave.
          The events seem to multiply with open house parties for two businesses. Join Mayor Jennings as he welcomes R.O.I Office Interiors on Thursday, October 11 from 4:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Meet the friendly staff and see the best in office furniture trends. The parties continue mid way through restaurant week as Salon 109 holds its second annual open house offering demonstrations, consultations, refreshments, and free samples as well as special pricing on products and merchandise.
Whether you’re coming down for a hair cut, a new chair, a good meal or to enjoy the cars downtown Albany is filled with fun events through the month of October. Just as Restaurant week begins to dwindle down the advantage auto group presents the Haunted Trolley Tours will be to haunt the Capital City. So get on board, grab a meal, and enjoy all that Downtown Albany has to offer this month!
